Introduction
We are seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our Product Safety and Quality function within Services BA. In this role, you will act as a dedicated quality partner for Business Lines, driving continuous improvement of product quality performance through data-driven insights and structured follow-up.
The position focuses on embedding quality into daily operations by transitioning from project-based initiatives to continuous quality management. You will support the resolution of complex quality issues, ensure effective handling of customer claims, and help translate Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) insights into practical actions.
You will report to Vesa Juusela, Director, Product Quality and Safety.
The position is preferably located in Espoo or Tampere, with hybrid working possibilities.
Team you belong to
You will be part of a global team of quality professionals working closely with Business Lines, Market Areas, and central functions. The team operates in a cross-functional environment, ensuring alignment between customer feedback, operational performance, and engineering activities.
What you'll do
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will act as a continuous quality partner for Business Lines and Market Areas, supporting the improvement of product quality performance and reducing Cost of Poor Quality.
In this role, you will:
- Translate quality data into actionable improvement initiatives
- Monitor quality performance (CoPQ, defect trends, warranty and claim data) and provide insights to stakeholders
- Identify systemic issues and early signals of quality deterioration, prioritizing actions based on business impact
- Support the resolution of complex, high-impact quality issues and customer cases, ensuring structured follow-up and timely resolution
- Drive root cause analysis and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure systematic defect capturing, data consistency, and traceability across systems (e.g. SAP QM, Salesforce)
- Collaborate closely with Business Lines, engineering, sales, and quality teams to ensure alignment and shared ownership of quality outcomes
- Contribute to the development of quality processes, tools, and ways of working
- Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, embedding quality into daily operations
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Information Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation)
- Experience in product quality, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Understanding of quality processes and data-driven performance management
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis and CAPA methodologies
- Good understanding of product lifecycle and engineering processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and stakeholder groups
- Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented way of working
- Ability to manage complex quality topics with clear business impact
