We at Barona Engineering are now looking for a Product Engineer to join Evac’s team in a fixed-term consulting assignment (approx. 12 months, with the possibility of extension). The employment contract will be with Barona, and you will work as part of Evac’s team in Espoo.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for product engineering within Evac’s wastewater and biological/chemical treatment solutions. Compared to Evac’s wet waste treatment systems, this role places a stronger emphasis on biological and chemical treatment processes as well as wastewater treatment technologies.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across product management, R&D, delivery projects, and sourcing to ensure technically sound, efficient, and competitive solutions. The role combines hands-on engineering work with system-level thinking and collaboration across functions.
The position is based in Espoo, with occasional travel required.
Key responsibilities
- Take technical responsibility for selected wastewater and treatment-related product solutions
- Support product development and continuous improvement of existing systems
- Participate in engineering work throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to delivery support
- Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely execution in engineering solutions
- Collaborate with product management, sales, delivery projects, and sourcing
- Maintain and develop technical documentation and product data.
Keys to success
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in process, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering
- Several years of relevant experience in engineering roles
- Understanding of biological and/or chemical treatment processes, preferably in wastewater applications
- Familiarity with process equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, piping, tanks) and system-level design
- Experience in product development, project engineering, or similar roles
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different stakeholders
- Proficiency in English.
Additionally, we see it as beneficial if you have:
- Experience in wastewater treatment technologies or environmental engineering solutions
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM tools
- A practical and structured approach to engineering work.

We are looking for an engineer with solid experience and a hands-on mindset, someone who brings some seniority, but who is still motivated to grow and develop further in the role. The position suits a professional who is comfortable taking ownership of technical topics while working as part of a team.
