At ALTEN Finland, we are looking for a SCADA / HMI / Communication System Engineer In this role, you will work in demanding and technically interesting projects related to power systems and industrial automation, contributing to the design, implementation and development of advanced SCADA and HMI solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and continuous development of SCADA and HMI solutions in power and industrial projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing SCADA system architectures and HMI solutions for real-time monitoring and control
- Defining and implementing communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850)
- Leading system integration, commissioning and testing activities
- Reviewing technical designs, specifications and project deliverables
- Troubleshooting issues and improving system performance, reliability and security
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
- Experience in system design within energy, industrial or utility projects
- Familiarity with SCADA and HMI platforms such as Aveva Plant SCADA, Zenon, Eaton SMP or similar
- Experience with network traffic analysis and debugging tools (e.g. Wireshark)
- Familiar with testing and simulation tools (e.g. IEDScout, TMW Test Harness)
- Experience in electrical design of substation secondary systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of electro-technical standards is considered a benefit
- Fluent written and spoken English; other languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel when required
