At Kalmar, high-quality data is the backbone of everything we do. We are looking for a Manager, Master Data Management to lead our efforts in ensuring accurate, reliable, and actionable parts and installed base master data across the organization.
In this role, you will be the guardian of our digital foundation. You aren't just overseeing entries in a system; you are building the "data heartbeat" that enables our global teams to make smarter, faster, and more reliable decisions. If you are a leader who thrives at the intersection of process governance, advanced technology, and cross-functional collaboration, this is your opportunity to shape the future of data at Kalmar.
What are your key responsibilities:
- Strategic Team Leadership: You will lead and develop the Master Data team, fostering an environment of ownership and collaboration. Your goal is to build a high-performing unit with a sustained team spirit that delivers excellence.
- End-to-End Governance Ownership: You will define and drive the global governance framework for master data, ensuring that "one version of the truth" exists across our entire ecosystem.
- System & Flow Integration: Collaborate with the IM organization and architects to ensure consistent, seamless data flow across core systems - PDM, ERP (SAP), and cloud platforms, delivering practical, data-driven insights.
- AI & Automation Innovation: You will drive continuous improvement by applying AI/ML and intelligent automation to reduce manual effort, improve data reliability, and increase scalability across item management use cases.
- Installed Base & Service Expertise: You will act as the primary owner for installed base data and processes, bridging the gap between data and the services business to optimize capture rates and spare parts potential.
- KPI & Quality Management: You will establish and monitor rigorous data quality KPIs, proactively identifying issues and driving the corrective actions needed to maintain the integrity of our global databases.
- Case and email management: You will ensure timely and prompt responses to teams support cases and team emails.
What we offer you:
- Rewards that truly count: Enjoy meaningful rewards that support your everyday life and well-being, including a company mobile phone, a flexible Edenred benefit for lunch, commuting, or wellness services, and comprehensive healthcare through Mehiläinen, enhanced by our health insurance fund for additional coverage and peace of mind.
- Safety that moves us forward: Build your career with a company rooted in safety since the 1940s, ensuring stability and an environment that empowers you to speak and be heard.
- Work-life balance: We prioritise work-life balance, providing flexible working hours and a hybrid work model tailored to meet both your needs and those of your team.
- Purpose that drives change: You'll contribute to solutions that transform global trade, creating environmental and operational innovations. You'll be in the driver's seat of ideas, developing digital technologies that set industry standards and position us as the forerunner.
- People who move together: You'll collaborate with people who build lasting relationships through global expertise, connections, and a commitment to sustainability.
Become part of our global network of 5,200 professionals across 120+ countries, where your work drives innovation, sustainability, and meaningful impact around the world.
What you bring to the role:
- Strong Academic Foundation: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Proven Leadership: You have a track record of developing teams and navigating complex, multinational matrix organizations with ease.
- ERP & Technical Mastery: You possess a deep understanding of SAP and item management systems, along with hands-on familiarity with tools like SQL, BigQuery, Athena, and cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
- Analytical & Holistic Thinking: You can see the big picture, translating complex data sets into actionable business insights that drive value.
- Innovation Mindset: You have experience or a strong interest - in AI/ML-enabled platforms and advanced analytics to transform traditional master data management.
- Professional Communication: You are fluent in English and excel at building cross-functional relationships, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and informed.
