What you’ll do:
The NPD Program Manager leads programs/projects critical to the growth, efficiency, and success of the (Critical Power Solutions) CPS business unit. These projects require coordination of resources across a range of functional organizations and external companies. The NPD Program Manager plans and directs project schedules and budgets and leads a team assigned within functional organizations responsible for executing various aspects of the project. The NPD Program Manager develops project management functions, processes, and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defines goals and leads global, regional and local projects to meet their goals.
- Is responsible for the assigned project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
- Leads all kinds of programs/projects e.g., New product development, operations, Investment and, process improvements
- Works with global engineering teams and collaborates with global program manager colleagues
- Sets project level objectives for the project team members - defines objectives that will be common to the project team.
- Prepares for program/project milestones (DGC approvals) - makes detailed plan and allocates this to team members, gets work package approvals, makes presentations and BoC update.
- Leads a Project Team in a matrix environment ensuring that various functional organizations (not limited to R&D) contribute and meet the overall objectives and deliverables of the project.
- Communicates with in & outside project team - HPO all employee meeting, team meeting, communication with global partners.
- Manages multiple large projects and activities simultaneously to meet defined objectives while prioritizing and resolving conflicts.
- Estimates, manages, and tracks cost including product cost, project costs, labor and capital.
- Plans and follows CAPEX and project OPEX - fulfills monthly data to CPS CAPEX tracking file and OPEX tracking file
- Maintains metrics for project financials, quality, technical performance and delivery through all program stages. Reports metrics regularly in the program information system (PROPM) and review meetings.
- Identifies and secures required resources, prepares budgets and defines schedules to achieve objectives. Establishes and manages work breakdown for all functional areas (resource planning).
- Implements effective risk management. Works with the project team to define project risks then proactively identifies and executes risk mitigation actions.
- Coordinates all risks and requirements of the project to achieve project goals.
- Improves and promotes the usage of project management and PROLaunch process.
- Develops project and product development processes, tools and methods.
- Acts as a senior project/program manager, trains, mentors, coaches and guides other project managers in improving overall execution of programs, projects and business.
- Works with the head of PMO in facilitating portfolio (Waterline) planning.
Qualifications:
- Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Economics
- +10 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Tools and methods for project management: MS-project, Excel, resource planning tools
- Excellent leadership, collaboration and communication skills.
- Must have experience and capability to work effectively with people and teams globally.
- Must be able to direct others without formal reporting relationships across multiple functions and sites.
