As a Project Manager in our Purchasing Capability Creation team, you’ll lead a welcoming and experienced team of 5–10 colleagues in Oulu, Finland focused on driving procurement activities from prototype development to volume production. This role is integral to the Delivery Capability Creation project, ensuring timely availability of materials while optimizing product costs and minimizing excess inventory.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, to align sourcing strategies with emerging technology needs. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Supply Capability Accountability: Responsibility for ensuring robust supply capability from the NPI phase, through prototype development, into seamless handover to volume production.
- Strategic Integration: Active participation in Program Management Teams (PMT) in relevant hardware programs and close alignment with R&D technology strategies to drive supplier and material selection.
- Risk Management: Proactive identification and mitigation of risks associated with critical suppliers and materials.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensuring timely material availability, efficient material transfer from prototype to production, and prevention of excess inventory.
- Collaboration & Development: Effective communication within diverse teams and continuous personal and professional growth.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must-have:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management or related field
- Solid competence and understanding of manufacturing technologies, raw materials, suppliers and capabilities, and understanding of product design requirements
- Proven experience on purchasing and procurement work with deep understanding of product cost management practices
- Proficiency in material simulation and availability assessments
- Solid project/program management skills with project team management experience
- Effective negotiation skills and fluent communication skills in spoken and written English
Nice-to-have:

Knowledge of wireless/telecom standards like 5G and LTE

Willingness to travel internationally on short notice (expected less than 5% of the time)

Experience with tools such as SAP, Jira, PowerBI, Excel, and GPMA
