Hello future LUT Summer Trainee!
Would you like to work at a university during summer 2026 in a role that combines research, communication, and creative content production? We are looking for a LUT Summer Trainee to join the Innovative Organisations and Sustainable Societies research group as a Junior Research Assistant in research communication at the LUT School of Engineering Sciences (LENS).
The position is located within the IEM research group at the LUT School of Engineering Sciences (LENS). In this role, you will work closely with researchers and support research communication through content creation and social media activities.
What will your work include
As a Summer Trainee, you will work on research communication tasks and support the research group's communication activities across different channels. Your responsibilities include content writing and storytelling based on research, visual design, and the development of engaging communication materials. The role involves social media strategy development, short video scriptwriting and editing, visual content creation, as well as analytics, and performance tracking.
In this role, you will also participate in project coordination and, when needed, support teaching-related communication and the development of marketing materials for the MOD program. The position focuses on transforming complex research topics into accessible and visually engaging content for platforms such as LinkedIn and TikTok.
What do we expect from you
You are a master's level student or in the final stage of your studies with a relevant background in communication, industrial engineering and management, social sciences, business, or a related field. You have skills in content creation, research communication, and social media strategy, and you are familiar with digital communication tools and platforms.
You work independently, are creative and detail-oriented, and have a genuine interest in research and societal topics. The working environment is international, and the position requires excellent written and spoken English skills.
What do we offer you
As a LUT Summer Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in research communication and social media strategy as part of an international research community. You will work closely with researchers and learn how research is communicated to different audiences in an impactful way.
Your main work location is the Lahti campus, where most of the project team is based. During the summer, partial hybrid work is also possible, with approximately three days per week on campus.
You can start the position at the end of May and work until the end of August, approximately 3 months. The start and end dates can be agreed based on your preferences, but we expect you to work for the full agreed summer employment period.
The salary for a research assistant is based on the number of completed study credits (ECTS) at the time the employment contract is signed and ranges from EUR 2,190 to EUR 2,530 per month. The weekly working time is 36 hours and 15 minutes.
At the beginning of the summer, you will participate in a joint Summer Trainee orientation day and get to know other LUT Summer Trainees.
