We are now looking for a
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - DISTRIBUTION
who will be focused on the ownership and holistic development of distribution technologies in collaboration with partners. This role requires proactive identification of development opportunities in the distribution area to enhance revenue and customer experience in alignment with Finnair's strategies.
This position is located in Finnair HQ near Helsinki Airport or in Tartu, Estonia.
Main responsibilities:
As Business Development Manager, you will lead the evolution of Finnair's distribution technologies, driving innovation and collaboration with key partners to enhance revenue and customer experience.

Lead the development, evaluation and implementation of the new distribution channels, innovations and technologies that support Finnair's vision as a modern retailer

Manage relationships with relevant distribution partners

Champion Finnair's Distribution Strategy internally and externally, including the rollout and adoption of New Distribution Capability (NDC) and other modern retailing initiatives

Support Sales teams with commercial and technical expertise to enhance customer experience and drive revenue through retail-driven distribution models.

Ensure decisions and initiatives align with business needs, evaluating cost impact, competitive landscape, and long-term value for customers

Collaborate with IT and key stakeholders to integrate new customer capabilities
-
Drive projects with determination, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery

Contribute to strategic and functional development of distribution and merchandizing solutions across all channels, with a focus on retail transformation

Follow and impact NDC standards evolution to align with Finnair's strategy
Our expectations:

In depth knowledge of business and industry processes, indirect and direct distribution models and technologies

Strong understanding of airline selling processes including revenue management and distribution

Experience in development of strategies, policies and frameworks

Proven track record of influencing change both internally and externally

Minimum 5 years' experience in travel industry business

Experience in leading major projects to a successful outcome

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to make fact-based and structured decisions in a hectic environment

Fluency in English, both spoken and written
