We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Environmental Safety for our Operations, EHSQ Governance. EHSQ Governance is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality across all Kemira operations. The team promotes safe behaviors, risk control, and compliance with global standards to protect employees, assets, and the value chain worldwide.
This position is located in Helsinki or another Kemira location, and you have flexibility to organize your work between office and remote, in a hybrid work culture.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert support on legal compliance, including regulatory monitoring and reporting.
- Leading environmental safety governance and compliance activities across global operations.
- Driving sustainability initiatives and integrating them into operational practices.
- Managing possible environmental incidents and ensuring effective response and follow-up.
- Supporting Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence processes from an environmental safety perspective.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with Kemira's EHSQ standards.
- Developing and maintaining global environmental safety policies and procedures.
- Representing Kemira in relevant external forums and regulatory bodies.
- Leading a small team of experts.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Strong background in sustainability activities and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage environmental incidents and regulatory follow-up.
- Proven experience in Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence processes.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions and cultures.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a global matrix organization.
- Academic degree (B.Sc/M.Sc/PhD) in a relevant field of technology
