Your role
We're seeking a passionate and driven R&D Engineer to join our Product Development team at our headquarters in Tampere. This role offers a unique opportunity to solve complex technical problems to create world's best workplace solutions. You will work in close co-operation with internal and external stakeholders, for example our own Prototyping, Sourcing and Product management teams, to mention a few.
As an R&D Engineer, you will tackle complex challenges and contribute to the creation of innovative products. Your responsibilities will vary within the whole product development lifecycle: from initial concept development and technology scouting to ensuring quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness in design. You will apply your expertise in structural and mechanical design, sound absorption and airflow; utilizing modern design and simulation tools. You will also design for user experience, mass production and automation, managing variance, tolerances and different technologies. Collaborating within a dynamic team, you will solve customer and business problems through product development. Furthermore, you will stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and integrate them into Framery's products. Responsibilities include cooperation with sub-contractors and a willingness to travel as needed.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking an exceptional and curious-minded engineer, ideally with a background in mechanical engineering, who is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for innovation. You should be experienced in manufacturing for high-volume production, self-directed and take ownership of tasks, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is highly motivated and eager to learn new technologies. While we embrace flexible work arrangements, including remote and hybrid options, we prioritize in-person collaboration, expecting the successful candidate to be present at our Tampere HQ minimum three days per week.
