We are seeking for a Senior Director, Project & Planning Management for the Minerals Business Area Performance Solutions organization. In this senior leadership position, you will be responsible for spearheading Metso's Mineral segment global concentrator and hydrometallurgical plant and solutions project delivery, overseeing the process from contract handover to operational startup. The leader sets the project delivery vision, strengthens execution excellence, and enables teams to excel utilizing standard delivery models, digital tools, and best practices.
The Senior Director, Project & Planning Management, leads the project management and planning team. Together with the team delivers projects to meet our customers' expectations through dedication and expertise, stakeholder integration, and collaboration to ensure safe, on-schedule, profitable project delivery, while also creating life-cycle opportunities.
This position is mainly located in Espoo, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
What you'll do
- Lead the Project and Planning Management team according to strategy, targets, business needs and best market practice.
- Lead the function's development and implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance activities to ensure that all organizational objectives are met.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the senior management level to develop and implement project management strategies that are aligned with the business objectives and translate these into annual plans.
- Develop and lead implementation of new project management process excellence initiatives, including strategic resource allocation; organization structure; leadership; project management systems and techniques for improved efficiency.
- Maintain an interface and a confident relationship with the customers and other stakeholders in the projects. Participate in project steering meetings and customer meetings as agreed.
- Ensure project portfolio KPI performance and do periodic reporting of the project portfolio to the line management and stakeholders.
- Lead the project professionals' team and ensure capability development and target achievement
Who you are
- Master's degree in Engineering with Mechanical and/or Chemical specialization or similar degree
- Relevant experience of 10+ years in Delivery projects in the mining and metal industry.
- Business and industry understanding with project execution skills
- Working with customers, understanding customer needs, and customer in center as a competence
- Technology, process, and services understanding
- Team leadership skills, cultural awareness, and being able to lead the change
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
