About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant with mass spectrometry experience to join the Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) Team. This is a hands-on laboratory role ideal for someone who enjoys experimental work and thrives in a collaborative research environment. You will be part of a dynamic, international team working in modern facilities equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation.
Orion Pharma is making strategic investments in challenging R&D areas where our expertise can drive breakthroughs-particularly in cancer therapies. As part of this commitment, we are enhancing our oncology research capabilities in proteomics and target discovery.
This is fixed-term on-site position for two years. The candidate would ideally start working in August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research activities by performing sample preparation for proteomics analysis, in vitro cell-based assays, biochemical assays, and molecular biology techniques including flow cytometry (FACS), immunofluorescence staining and cell imaging, Western blotting (WB), quantitative PCR (qPCR), and antibody labelling.
- Support discovery and verification of novel proteoforms.
- Independently maintain and conduct experiments using mammalian cell cultures.
- Assess the potency of antibody-drug conjugates and free payloads.
- Evaluate antibody binding, surface protein density, and internalization in vitro.
- Accurately document experimental procedures and results using electronic lab notebooks.
- Ensure high standards of laboratory housekeeping and contribute to routine maintenance of lab and cell culture facilities.
The role is based in Turku, Finland, and will report to the ADC Target Discovery Lead.

Our expectations
- Familiarity with proteomics workflows (DDA, DIA)
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS

Experience working with patient-derived material

Experience with functional assays
- Exposure to: Cell‑surface or membrane protein enrichment, glycoproteomics and/or phosphoproteomics
- Hands-on experience in laboratory techniques related to cellular and biochemical assays, and standard molecular biology methods (e.g., FACS, WB, qPCR, IF).
- Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture and related functional assays.
- A relevant degree in health sciences or biotechnology, such as from the University of Applied Sciences.
- Proficiency in basic computational tools and experience with electronic lab notebooks.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
