We at Barona Engineering are now looking for a Product Engineer to join Evac’s team in a fixed-term staffing assignment for 12 months, with the possibility of continuation. The employment contract will be signed with Barona and during the assignment, you will work on-site as part of Evac’s team.
Responsibilities
About the role
As a Product Engineer, you will hold technical responsibility for wet waste treatment products and contribute especially to Evac’s innovative HydroTreat solution, which is an HTC-based system that transforms waste into valuable biochar. You will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient, and on-time deliveries.
This position is based in Espoo and includes regular visits to Evac’s testing facility in Hyrylä, Tuusula.
Key responsibilities
- Support product development projects and ensure professional execution and documentation
- Hold technical responsibility for wet waste treatment products, including standard product ownership
- Drive continuous improvement and updates of standard systems and products
- Collaborate with lead product engineers, product line management, sales, delivery projects, and sourcing to ensure competitiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Keys to success
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in process, mechanical, or chemical engineering, with several years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of process equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels)
- Proven track record in product development, product management, and/or project engineering
- System-level thinking and the ability to see the big picture
- Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM tools
- Full working proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Proactive, organized, and collaborative team player with a can-do attitude
- Experience in wet waste treatment and/or hydrothermal treatment systems is considered an advantage.
