We are now looking for an IT Architect, Integration & Automation Services to join our Application Platforms Design Team. In this position you will be the technical lead for platform services supporting many UPM business areas. The position is located in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland.

What you will do
Integration & Automation Service is one of UPM's key enabling IT services. The mission of the team is to provide an effortless integration and automation service that ensures UPM business data flows reliably to the right place and in the right form, accelerates time-to-market, safeguards business continuity, and continuously adapts to evolving business and technology needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture and roadmap execution of UPM's Integration & Automation Services platform. You will work closely with the Platform Owner, Architects, IT Service Owners, and external partners. The role combines strategic architectural leadership with some hands-on work focused on proof‑of‑concepts and strong stakeholder collaboration. In addition, you will:
- Lead the architecture and roadmap execution of the Integration & Automation Services platform
- Design and model your platform architectures in alignment with UPM Enterprise Architecture principles
- Build and maintain Integration & Automation guidelines, architectural patterns and best practices
- Consult and support business projects in contributor or Integrations lead role
- Evaluate new technologies, capabilities, and architectural patterns and introduce them in a controlled manner
- Drive the evolution of Integration Automation services platform as a team with Platform Owner and Architect
- Onboard, lead and manage external development partners, ensuring architectural quality and consistency
Who you are
- You have strong experience in integration and automation platform architecture
- You have solid understanding of enterprise and platform architecture and managing complex ecosystems
- You have strong collaboration and communication skills in a multi-stakeholder environment
- You have the experience and knowledge to evaluate new solutions technically
- You have experience in leading and managing external development partners
- You have a proactive mindset and passion for developing and modernizing platforms
- You have excellent communication skills, primarily in English
