Valmet Pulp, Energy and Circularity business area (PEC BA) supplies complete pulp mills and process equipment for chemical and mechanical pulp production, as well as biomass- and waste-fueled power plants, boiler islands and related environmental systems. The business area's customers are mainly pulp producers and power and heat producers.
We are looking for a Project Development Manager to work in PEC BA's Project Execution organization. Work is done at our offices in Finland (Tampere, Vantaa, Ulvila, Raisio), with a possibility to partly work remotely. This is a fixed-term position until end of March 2027.
As Project Development Manager you are supporting the organization in managing the different kinds of development projects. In your daily work you will be coordinating, facilitating, following up and reporting development programs as they progress. You will master our project management tools and processes and participate in developing training programs by planning and implementing those inside of our organization. You will also be our expert in various other Valmet development programs and represent PEC BA Project management on these forums. You will work closely with many stakeholders to provide and receive information.
Your Tasks Include

Development and training of project management tools and processes, and acting as a key user

Actively looking for the areas of improvement for improving project management tools, processes, reporting to support transparency and world class project delivery

Involve various data processing and analyzing, reporting and coordination activities to support project management

Developing and implementing the organization's PMO practices e.g. planning & scheduling, R&O, Forecasting, Contract & Claim management as a part of the capital, service and sales projects

Co-ordinate and represent PEC BA in various internal and external stakeholder groups such as business management, finance, IT, project management, sales, and construction site management, etc.

Support the organization in communication of project feedback and lessons learned
Expectations
You must have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in technology to be the selected candidate for the position. You should have at minimum 8-10 years of previous professional experience in similar development tasks or projects. Work experience within EPC-projects or pulp industry is considered as an advantage. You have good IT skills, knowledge of database tools, Power-Bi, programming language and understanding of several project management processes is highly appreciated. Fluent English skills are needed, both written and spoken. This position includes some occasional travelling.
We appreciate a team player with a positive can-do attitude. You understand the big picture and its causalities, the flow of the project, but on the other hand you are also capable of very detailed and accurate work. You plan and prioritize your own work independently but also know when to reach out for information and support. You can deliver results in a changing project environment with tight schedules on several development projects at the same time. Much of your time will be spent independently working, but you need to proactively reach out for information and support from project management teams and other stakeholders. Your communication skills are needed when facilitating and coordinating several meetings together with various stakeholders.
