We are looking for a Solution Manager SLM Apps with a main responsibility in the development and ownership of the AWS microservices. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland but also Turku and Vaasa are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Solution manager SLM Apps your work will include the ownership of microservice applications related to the Wärtsilä Service Lifecycle management landscape, development of new microservices, development of changes, keeping the systems running and delivering of smooth services to business stakeholders. The services are in use by our sales and delivery departments and the service contains data and functionality for managing client asset maintenance.
Microservices are using the AWS platform, and the related applications are built Python (FastAPI) and React for possible front-end applications. The database in use is Neo4J (Graph Database) so experience with graph databases is seen as a benefit.
You'll be working as a part of energetic Product Engineering and Lifecycle Management (PELM) CoE team with diverse expertise. The team is responsible for defining and delivering IT services in its domain, managing service, solution and application lifecycles of Wärtsilä's design and engineering systems, calculation and simulation systems, Product configurator systems, Content publishing systems, PLM reports, Lifecycle Data platform (SLM) as well as PDM/PLM systems. The team develops the solution, manages service specifications, solution roadmaps according to architectural guidelines and creates functional specifications out of received business requirements for internal or external solution development.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for lifecycle management of own solution area
- Manage changes and releases, new requirements, solution specifications, development and documentation within own functional area
- Participate in future business projects to utilize connected data in applications
- Makes solution proposals and provide information to support decision making concerning the solution
- Supports business stakeholders to prioritize the continuous development pipeline and manages the prioritized continuous development backlog in own responsibility area
- Responsible for application communication (input/output) and upkeeping needed stakeholder communication
- Responsible for application availability (reliability)
- By following guidelines and set of frameworks, provides a significant contribution as a subject matter expert for development and total delivery of a solution in optimal alignment with business requirements
- Maintain and develop further the backend applications in the Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) applications
- Take part in developing new graph data models needed in the SLM applications
- Define and develop new backend services together with business stakeholders
- Improve the reliability, operability and observability of the applications
- Coordinate and communicate with external / internal partners and stakeholders
- Drive continuous service improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements together with stakeholders and vendors
Requirements for the position:
- Education: M.Sc., education in Information Technology, Engineering or Sciences
- 5+ years of experience in Software development
- Solid experience in consulting, gathering and analysing customer requirements and turning them into solution designs
- Experience in Agile/ Scrum development methodology and DevOps culture
- Passion to master your knowledge area
- Strong Python knowledge
- Experience in developing AWS serverless applications
- Experience in Full stack development with strong backend development experience
- Wärtsilä business knowledge is a great advantage
- Excellent collaboration and presentation skills
- Proactive, development-minded and goal-focused attitude to work
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and regulatory compliance is vital to safeguard sensitive data and maintain security standards
