The Product Management function within P&FS is a strategic and tactical function that creates and maintains the Lifecycle Strategy for Wärtsilä products and offerings. We manage lifecycle product portfolios and enhance product performance, striving for business growth and increased customer satisfaction through focus, change, and harmonisation. Driven by our customers' current and future needs, we create and launch new competitive offerings.
We are embarking on a transformation journey to elevate our function, our way of working, as well as our deliverables to a higher level. We are working on a comprehensive and large-scale program which would be defining our success for years to come.
Therefore, we are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Product Management transformation initiative for a minimum 12-month fixed term contract. The duration of the fixed term contract is adaptable up to 18 months based on mutual agreement.
The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland, but we are open to considering candidates based in Vaasa or Turku, Finland; Drunen, Netherlands; and Trieste, Italy. Our hybrid work model allows for partial remote work, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
What will you be doing?
The Product Management transformation initiative aims to improve internal processes and clarify roles and responsibilities to enhance the effectiveness of our Product Managers. As Project Manager, you will oversee six different streams within the initiative, ensuring successful implementation and integration across the organisation.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
-Defining and clarifying the project scope and developing comprehensive project plans in close collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
-Overseeing project execution and implementation to ensure to ensure timely completion and successful integration.
-Estimating resources, drafting budget proposals, and managing personnel requirements.
-Managing project expectations, dependencies, and timelines.
-Tracking milestones and communicating project updates and progress to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
-Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
-Building and maintaining strong stakeholder networks with internal stakeholders, fostering essential business relationships to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Role requirements:
-BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
-Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
-Extensive experience in project management, ideally within the Marine or Energy industries.
-Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans to ensure smooth transitions and improve operational efficiency.
-Strong expertise in project management methodologies, including both Waterfall and Agile.
-Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and management.
-Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change initiatives that transform ways of working and minimise organisational impact.
-Excellent networking skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring buy-in and support for change initiatives.
-Outstanding communication skills to effectively convey change strategies and updates to diverse audiences.
-Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and mitigate risks associated with change management.
-Knowledge of Wärtsilä products and processes is advantageous.
