IR&D Researcher/Specialist, 6-month fixed-term position

We are now looking for anR&D Researcher/Specialist to support, plan and perform testing of our products in our analytical chemistry laboratory of product purity.

As R&D Researcher/Specialist you will be part of the Product Purity Team in the Group Innovation and R&D organization. The Product Purity team consists of experts within the area and is working towards ensuring the product purity and safety of our products supporting production and new product development.
Your main task will be to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses using mainly gas chromatography techniques (GC/FID, GC/MS or other GC detectors). Analysis tasks include preparing samples and analytical standard solutions according to analytical needs (e.g., extraction, derivatization, dilution), and interpretation of mass spectra and identification of compounds using databases and standards.
Your location is in Imatra, Finland.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you have a strong scientific and technical background combined with structured analytical thinking; hands-on can-do attitude, problem solving ability, and results-driven approach. You have ability to transform challenges into new opportunities and to work independently as well as in an international and interdisciplinary team. You have an innovative and open mindset with good team-working skills.
We expect you to have at least a master's degree in a relevant field such in chemistry, analytical chemistry or chemical engineering. For Specialist position you have minimum 5 years relevant work experience and MSc education or PhD degree with special competence in the area. Knowledge of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry are needed for this position. Expertise in other analytical techniques is beneficial.
You are fluent in English.
