What you’ll do:
System engineer in R&D organization for UPS and battery systems. Collaborates with external suppliers and Eaton internal stakeholders to enable world class energy storage devices in Eaton UPS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for engineering activities related to using energy storage devices, especially Lithium Ion batteries in products
- Defines and manages system level requirements and architecture for UPS's and batteries
- Specifies the hardware and firmware interfaces required in UPS products for the energy storage interface
- Collaborates with Eaton internal stakeholders in new product introduction
- Collaborates with external suppliers of energy storage devices
- Creates technical tools and documentation for sales teams to select and dimension battery solutions
- Defines the compliance requirements (safety, EMC, environmental, transportation) for the battery systems
- Defines the test methods for the batteries and for the converter systems interfacing with the batteries
- Supports design and application engineering teams in battery related questions
- Participates in technology development and innovates new ideas
- Acts ethically and according to Eaton Values and Philosophy following the company rules and policies
Qualifications:
- MSc / BSc in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with energy storage devices
- 3+ years of experience in Electrical and/or Electronic industry
Skills:
- Experience with energy storage devices, especially Lithium Ion batteries, needed.
- Experience with UPS and/or other power electronic products preferred
- Experience working in cross-functional development teams, strong communication skills. Capability to work with uncertainty.
