We are seeking talented and motivated patent leader to apply his/her legal, technical, and communication skills with patent attorneys and patent engineers in developing a worldwide patent portfolio. The selected candidate will be required to understand the domestic and international patent laws, and work in a cooperative atmosphere to purposefully prosecute and secure patent assets throughout the world. It is beneficial if the candidate has experience in leading a team of patent attorneys and managing large patent portfolios in time efficient manner. Also, we are looking for a leader with open mindset to develop and implement new strategies to process high volume of office actions in cost efficient manner.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Leading a global team of internal and external patent attorneys and patent engineers
- Developing strategies for driving high productivity and cost efficiency of global patent prosecution
- Managing the execution of global high-volume patent portfolio prosecution
- Drafting Office Action Responses in-house and with external patent attorneys
- Conducting examiner interviews
- Collaborating with counsels across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional practices and law
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- US Patent Attorney or US Patent Agent or European Patent Attorney
- Understanding of business realities and developing patent prosecution strategies matching those
- People and portfolio leadership experience in a law firm or a Corporate IP department
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on work experiences at a law firm and/or in a Corporate IP department, including meaningful professional exposure to managing patent portfolios, prosecuting patent assets and developing patent prosecution strategies
- MSc or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Mathematics or Physics
- Proactive, result-oriented, and strong motivation to excel
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Willingness to work under pressure
- Time management skills to deliver in time
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience at a top law firm and/or In-house experience with large telecommunication companies
- Experience in telecommunication (3GPP) standards
- Collaborative and responsible team-player mentality
- Goal-oriented forward thinking and acting
