Improvement Projects are part of the Packaging and Paper Services business and serve Valmet's customers with board and paper machine upgrades aimed at improving production performance, resource efficiency and reliability. We believe that excellent customer experience is built on value adding offering, skills and competences related to equipment and processes as well as operational excellence in sales and delivery. We serve our customers annually on more than 500 improvement projects and 400 roll deliveries globally.
You will be accountable for the performance and strategic direction of the Improvement Projects business globally, ensuring alignment with Packaging and Paper Business Area's overall goals.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Development and lifecycle management of competitive solution portfolio, with both global and regional perspectives.

Improvement of operational excellence, supply chain, global footprint, processes and tools to improve cost competitiveness and efficiency.

Definition and implementation of strategies to achieve sustainable growth, profitability, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Leading the team through change into Valmet's new operational model, fostering strong collaboration with key stakeholder organizations.
At Valmet we get things done by working together. As a Director, Improvement Projects, you will achieve results by working together with colleagues in different fields, like Sales, Project Operations and Engineering, Global Supply, as well as Technology and R&D.
Your location can be one of the main locations in Tikkurila, Jyväskylä or Tampere.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Passion for developing new products and services and leveraging them to drive profitable business growth and demonstratable customer value.

Understanding of the pulp and paper industry and utilization of installed base to generate business opportunities.

Experience developing organizational capabilities and expertise to meet evolving business needs and drive innovation.

Experience working in customer-facing roles and familiarity with internal processes and tools is considered an advantage.

Dynamic leadership skills with a track record of achieving results both independently and collaboratively in an international matrix organization.

A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.

Effective written and verbal communication in English, complemented by strong presentation, negotiation, and analytical capabilities.

Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
