At Borealis, we're seeking an experienced Senior IT specialist with a strong background in Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSEQ) to join our Business Ecosystems team. You will play a crucial role in shaping smart IT solutions, optimizing operational processes, and strengthening the interface between technology and business-with a clear focus on supporting and enhancing our HSE capabilities.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders-especially in HSE and Quality -and IT, translating functional needs into efficient SAP-based solutions.
- Design, implement, and improve IT systems that support HSE processes, including incident management, risk assessments, compliance tracking, and preventive maintenance using SAP S/4HANA.
- Collaborate closely with HSE, Quality and production teams to identify digital opportunities and improve safety and sustainability performance through smarter systems.
- Support non-SAP systems for Electronic Working Permits, Risk Management, IUCLID, Chesar, and Hazop-related tools.
- Provide support for SAP modules, including Product Compliance (PC), Product Safety (PS), Dangerous Goods (DG), Substance Volume Tracking (SVT), Poison Center Notification, and Quality Management (QM).
- Coordinate EHS Expert Server setups, and WWI template updates, including 3E regulatory content package management.
- Assist with vulnerability handling, and incident management via ServiceNow.
About you
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in IT, ideally in production or process industries, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA (particularly EHS & QM).
- Proven experience working with HSE and Quality processes and requirements, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing context.
- A strong understanding of enterprise system architecture, process design, and end-to-end solution delivery.
- Analytical, structured, and proactive-capable of independently driving improvement initiatives.
- Comfortable working in agile teams and cross-functional environments.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Your salary package will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 72.000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
