The Investment Management team drives strategy development, investment and financial planning, governance, and reporting for the Patent Portfolio organization, which manages Nokia's industry-leading patent portfolio and enhances value from Nokia's patents and R&D efforts.
This is a full-time traineeship for the fall 2025, preferably from August to December, but can be tailored with the right candidates. To join a trainee program at Nokia, an active student status is expected.

Selected candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at our Espoo office. The interview will include presentation of a prework case study and a typical interview with the opportunity to ask questions.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Participate in patent portfolio development projects, including business case preparation, investment modelling, cost efficiency studies, portfolio analysis, and financial planning and reporting.
- Work with data on Nokia's patent portfolio, the patenting process, and related financial investments.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to inform and optimize investment decisions.
- Utilize statistical methods to forecast and model portfolio and industry trends.
- Draw insights from data to drive strategic decision-making and prepare high-quality data-driven presentations for stakeholders.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- An ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in investment and portfolio management, technology and intellectual property, financial and economic modelling, or data analytics, with a matching skillset
- Current Master's or advanced Bachelor's studies in a relevant field e.g. Finance, Economics, Engineering or Technology Management
- Experience working with large complex data sets and financial data
- Familiarity with statistical methods, data analysis and programming languages
- Strong initiative, analytical skills and interest in drawing business-relevant insights
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive and diligent approach to work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Fluency in written and spoken English with exceptional communication skills
It would be nice if you also had:
- Previous experience from working with and understanding patenting and financial data
- Knowledge about telecommunications or connectivity within any industry
- Drive for professional development and curiosity to learn about Nokia and the industry
